The Effect of Cognitive Programs on Cognitive Functions of the Elderly with Normal Cognitive Functions in the Community: Based on the Program 'Connect Memories'

Background: This study aims to develop a well-founded program for the elderly in community provide guide continuous practice and be used as basic data its spread community.Methods: Among aged 60 or older living Seongdong-gu, total of 130 people agreed participate met criteria selecting subjects, 86 were final subjects. The effects on cognitive function, depression, daily life activities, quality before after participating investigated evaluated. Cognitive Impairment Screening Test, Subjective Memory Complaints Questionnaire, Short form Geriatric Depression Scale-Korean version, Korean version Instrumental Activities Daily Living, EuroQol-5 dimension test tools. After pre-test, they participated twice week 14 50 minutes sessions, average score posttest was compared.Results: It found that function improved depression significantly decreased regardless age than program. There difference improvement according level education, but decrease equally, health-related improved.Conclusions: Based results this study, it is recommended senior citizens aged60 continue 'Connect Memories' improve cognitivefunction.
